Refining and Finalising
This is a reflection on my last official tutorial before my project hand in. It therefore enabled me to pinpoint what needs to be done before then.
At the start of my review we looked over the work I had completed over the last few week. We started with looking over my samples created over the past week. I focused the past week in exploring mostly with aluminium sheeting. The group really liked this work, and the photography I had done capturing different compositions of my samples.
However they discussed how I can still explore even more varieties of materials that capture my drawing. In the tutorial I started making a list of materials I can explore in my final sampling. This included mirrored and foiled perspex, rope/cord, foam and metal rings.
I have started incorporating magnets in my work to allow an interactive nature to my work. However, I glue gunned them on to my samples, which made them looked messy. Therefore my teacher suggested starting to explore creating pockets with magnets inside to create a neat, hidden way of incorporating magnets. She also suggested for presenting my work to perhaps have an interactive magnetic board. I will really start focusing on refining the look of my samples and how I incorporate magnets in them.
Regarding the context of my work, my tutor really liked the effectiveness of my sampling in context. For my hand in, she believes that 2 or 3 visualisation mood boards of my work and its context would work well in communicating my idea.
Going into my final two weeks of work before hand in, I will take on board the advice given in this tutorial. I will start creating refined samples that reflect my energetic drawings, and will ensure that my context and visualisation for my work is clearly communicated.
